The CT30 high speed tester is designed to
be used on coaxial cable and identifies the location of faulty
connections by indicating at which end of the cable the fault
lies.
The advantage of the CT30 is that it saves time and money when
testing coaxial leads as it pinpoints at which end the fault has
occurred. Conventional testers in this price range can only
indicate that a fault exists thus incurring wasted time and
extra expense in replacing connectors.
The CT30 tests for three fault types: shorts, open outer and
open inner, and will test leads as short as 0.2 metres (maximum
length greater than 100m). The test sequence is repeated five
times a second for as long as a cable is connected, thus
intermittent faults can be quickly located.
Operating is quick and simple - each connector is plugged into
the two BNC sockets situated at the top of the instrument, one
of 6 LED indicators will light up showing the location and
nature of the fault. An audible “beep” is transmitted confirming
connections and cable have passed.
The unit will automatically shut down when the cable is removed.
By use of inter-series adapters other types of terminated
coaxial leads can also be used such as TNC, F-Type and N Series.
Powered by a standard PP3 battery, the CT30 is offered in a
compact enclosure measuring a minuscule H95 x W60 x D26mm. |
